Today AT&T changed the order status form on their web site and now I can’t get any information from it. I called my AT&T store to get them to check on my iPhone 3G order and the sales person said it was still pending. Then she dropped a new time table on me. When I ordered my phone I was told 7-15 days and now the time frame has gone to 10-20 business days. I guess I will check on my phone again next Tuesday as that will be the 10th business day.
I order an iPhone 3G last week at the AT&T store near work. There was a url on my receipt I was told I could use to check the status of my order. The web form at the url has three required fields one of them being zip code. It took me a little while to figure out that I had to put in the AT&T store’s zip code instead of my own which makes no sense to me at all.
So I have been checking on my order at least once a day since I ordered the phone. This morning when I checked on my order the QTY Back-Ordered column read 0 instead of one. I thought maybe they had received a shipment of phones and mine was being processed. However when I checked on my order this afternoon the QTY Back-Ordered read 1 again. AT&T and Apple have really dropped the ball on this one and I am not pleased at all.
I had a lovely weekend. I used the weekend to just chill out. Friday night we watched the new Futurama movie "The Beast with a Billion Backs". It was funny but it was nowhere near as good as "Bender’s Big Score".
Saturday we hung about the house all kind of doing our own thing. I started reading a new Sci-Fi book. I have decided to try and keep recreational reading to the weekends so I can spend my time during the week doing other things.
Sunday I mowed the lawn and enjoyed the weather. The temperature probably didn’t make it higher than 75°. We opened up the house and I spent some time reading on the back porch. It was one of the nicest weekends I can remember.
I have had a Canon A510 digital camera for two or three years now. I love this camera, its pretty fast and the pictures are pretty good. I am pretty clueless when it comes to photography, my skill level amounts to selecting the preset mode for indoor, outdoor, and kids/pets. The camera has a feature that I had never actually used before the ability to capture small videos. We were at my son’s baseball game last night and I decided to give it a try. I got a couple of nice little video’s of him at bat. I connected my camera to my Mac and imported the photos and videos. iPhoto showed the videos just like it does the pictures. It was so quick and easy this kind of thing is why I love my Mac.
My iTrip Mini was unavailable and the place I ordered it from can’t get any more. I poked around a bit and found another cheap Monster FM transmitter for $10 with free shipping from newegg. I ordered two of them, one for me and one for my wife. I really hope they don’t suck.
Last night my son had his first baseball practice of the season. The park district isn’t getting off to a very good start this year. They told the coaches our age group could practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at a certain park but they did no more scheduling than that. Our team ended up practicing off in a corner of the outfield on one of the diamonds. We were in a high spot of the park and the wind was blowing steadily the entire time. I thought my ear was freezing off. When we were leaving my son got into the car and said his hands were numb. I really hope we don’t have any more practices where it is that cold again.
