I am a big fan of Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series. I have read the whole series so far.  When I read about it being turned into a TV series I thought it would be right in the genre of fluff television I enjoy.  I finally got around to watching the first episode today and it turned me right off watching any more. The casting for two of the three main characters wasn’t very good. The series doesn’t have an original look given that it shoots in New Zeland it looks just like the Hercules and Zena shows.  

The TV series changed some pretty siginificant details that as a fan of the story just made me mad.  It doesn’t really take much imagination to see how the original story from the book could have been shot to grab the attention of the viewer and engage them in the story.  I was kind of surprised that Terry Goodkind allowed such liberties to be taken with his work. 

So I wasn’t very happy with what I saw.  I will probably not be watching “Legend of the Seeker” again.

I upgraded to the new WordPress 2.7 and it’s pretty cool.  It seems a little slower than the previous version.  All the Web 2.0 features seem to be a little heavy, however it may just be because my hosting is a very underpowered VPS setup.

I really like the way the WordPress admin looks.  I have been waiting for WordPress to do some usability work on the admin panel for a long time.
